Oxitec’s co-founder and chief scientist, Luke Alphey, attended the World Economic Forum in Davos for the second year as a Technology Pioneer. Each year, the World Economic Forum singles out several dozen leaders of new technology ventures from the fields of environment, energy and health based on criteria that emphasize their innovations and the impact they have on society and business. Five of these leaders presented their ideas for scrutiny in a 5 minute pechakucha presentation (watch here). IdeasLab participants critiqued each venture in order to explore potential challenges, opportunities, policy impacts, missing ingredients and unintended consequences. (WEF IdeasLab).
