Ongoing field trials of OX513A Aedes aegypti

Oxitec’s OX513A mosquito has undergone extensive field trials in Brazil. These trials have been run by collaboration between Dr Margareth Capurro of Sao Paulo University and Moscamed, the lead Brazilian company in developing sterile insect strategies, with assistance and support from Oxitec’s scientists

Panama

The Gorgas Institute in Panama City has carried out a number of laboratory based tests on Oxitec’s OX513A mosquito and plan to carry out open field trials of the mosquito throughout 2014. We will post more information on their plans shortly.
