Life cycle of Aedes aegypti

June 20, 2013

This is an interactive presentation showing the life cycle of the mosquito Aedes aegypti. This mosquito transmits diseases like dengue, chikungunya and yellow fever and feeds almost exclusively on humans. Living in and around people’s homes this mosquito will breed in anything that holds water including flowerpots, birdbaths and urban refuse. Control of this mosquito is extremely hard as it lives in such close proximity to humans, it is very hard to find and treat all the breeding sites and insecticide resistance.
