Bactrocera oleae (Olive fly) OX3713A
Product profile
OX3713A is a female-specific RIDL strain. This strain provides separation of the sexes to allow a 100% male release by removal of the supplement from the diet of the final release generation. In addition to genetic sexing, the strain may also be used without irradiation for population suppression. Released males will mate with wild females and female progeny will die. Eliminating females will suppress the population. OX3713A contains the heritable fluorescent marker DsRed which is clearly visible in all life stages.
