Our research

Oxitec uses modern biotechnology to develop insect strains that are sterile and that can be used to control pests of both public health and agriculture. Our suite of genetic technologies known as RIDL® includes methods for sterilising insects, separating sexes and marking for effective monitoring. The approach is an enhancement of the well-established Sterile Insect Technique.
