Neil Morrison

Neil has over 15 years of experience in insect genetic engineering, and currently leads R&D programmes and develops new opportunities for the self-limiting pest management platform. Following a PhD at Oxford University – during which he developed the self-limiting platform in the cotton pest, pink bollworm, and worked with US Department of Agriculture researchers in the first field trials of a genetically engineered insect in Arizona cotton – Neil has managed projects from early discovery to field testing, with a focus on agricultural pests, recently working with Cornell University to conduct the first US field trials of a self-limiting insect, this time with diamondback moth. Neil currently leads the group developing the self-limiting solution for fall armyworm, a major pest of maize in the Americas and Africa.
