Oxitec’s Friendly™ Aedes aegypti will be made available to customers across Brazil.
Diverse customers in the media, sports management and transportation, and other multinational companies with major manufacturing facilities throughout the country, have placed orders for the coming season.
Oxitec has selected Brazil’s leading pest control companies that share Oxitec’s values and commitment to leading a new era of sustainable mosquito control to deliver Oxitec products to households and businesses nationally.

Oxitec Ltd, the leading developer of insect-based biological solutions to control pests that transmit disease, destroy crops, and harm livestock, today announced that its Friendly™ Aedes aegypti mosquito control solution will be available nationwide in Brazil from October. To deliver national impact, Oxitec has partnered with leading pest control companies that will distribute and deploy the product in every state in Brazil. Leading companies across sectors have placed orders for the Friendly™ Aedes to protect their employees, customers and local communities.
After last year’s targeted regional product launch, Oxitec screened and then selected leading pest control companies across Brazil that share Oxitec’s values and commitment to leading a new era of sustainable mosquito control. The result is a roster of world-class partners who will scale Oxitec products nationally. Detecta will serve the state of São Paulo; Bioseta will serve the southern region of Brazil; Prime will sell the solution in Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo; and Grupo Expansão, will launch the Friendly™ Aedes aegypti product in other Brazilian states. Together, these partnerships represent a new class of market-leaders for the pest control industry, who have chosen to spearhead the transition of mosquito control services to broader utilization of biological and environmentally sustainable solutions.
Large companies and institutions across Brazil have also chosen Friendly™ Aedes aegypti for the coming mosquito season. These include, among others, Estúdios Globo, Latin America’s largest media conglomerate; Clube Botafogo, one of Brazil’s most celebrated football clubs; and Grupo Socicam, Brazil’s largest transportation infrastructure provider, which used the solution at the Tietê Terminal in SP last season and will now expand to three new terminals in São Paulo and Campinas.
Oxitec's Friendly™ Aedes aegypti was developed to deliver a simple, just-add-water tool for control of Aedes aegypti, the mosquito that spreads dengue, chikungunya, Zika and yellow fever.
